6 weeks ago I was told I couldn’t play squash because of the torn muscles in my right shoulder. I love this game with a passion. Today I went to see a specialist to ask if there was any hope for me to play again. I turned up to the reception desk, one reception was busy serving a customer the other was doing nothing and could see me standing there. She left me standing there for about 5 minutes. So I waited patiently then a European couple came and stood behind me. She ignored me and looked at them saying,” can I help you”? They immediately walked in front of me and she served them first. I said with frustration,” am I invisible, I have been standing here for 5 minutes and you served them first”. ( I am 6ft3 hard to miss) she said,” I did ask if I could help you”. I felt racially discriminated because I was brown and she ignored me.
I supported my younger brother today at a disciplinary job meeting. Although he had all the facts from emails and contracts his bosses tried to make him feel worthless and he is actually there no.1 recruiting consultant.
