Here in New Zealand all food products for sale in stores have to show what and how much ingredients it is made with. Some are very creative and tricky and might say lite so you think it is a healthier option but when you read the small print it is saying lite in colour.
The red tick implies this is a good choice but for diabetics sometimes it has far too much sugar. A lot of our food products that are fat free or less fat normally are high in sugar. The manufacture also makes the label so small that you need a magnify glass to read what is saying.
Don’t get tricked into reading food labels without really reading the small details so you can make a better choice in buying a healthier option.
My grandson asked me to get the crackers down from the cupboard, when I gave it to him he said “Look Papa it says low in fat” yes grandson that’s a healthier option.
